Remodeling
For over three decades, the Remodeling Futures Program has studied trends in home maintenance and improvement, on which the US spends over $600 billion annually. Our research explores the dynamics of the industry that conducts this work, the evolving repair and preservation needs of the nation’s housing stock, and how household characteristics shape demand and capacity for different types of housing renovations. The program also produces the biennial Improving America’s Housing report and the quarterly Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA).
