ESTABLISHED IN 1971 UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF JOHN T. DUNLOP, FORMER UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF LABOR AND DEAN OF THE HARVARD FACULTY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES, THE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD OF THE JOINT CENTER FOR HOUSING STUDIES HAS A LONGSTANDING HISTORY OF SUPPORTING HOUSING RESEARCH AT HARVARD.

The Policy Advisory Board serves as a distinguished national forum for leading companies with interests in the future of housing, including homebuilding, mortgage finance, building materials manufacturing and distribution, remodeling, and industry data. Through this forum, members of the Policy Advisory Board play an important role in identifying emerging issues and trends, and supports the Center in its commitment to advancing housing as a national priority.

Each Policy Advisory Board member company is represented by two senior executives, who are invited to attend its three annual meetings. During the meetings, the Center convenes scholars, government officials, and other leading figures knowledgeable about the industry to meet with the group. The meetings focus attention on major problems and issues facing the housing industry and the nation. While the Policy Advisory Board provides financial support to the Center, it does not review or approve any aspect of the Center’s research or operations.
