This year’s Conference on Poverty and Inequality will take place at the Harvard Kennedy School on Saturday, February 24. With a theme of Uniting Against Poverty: New Alliances and Partnerships, the conference highlights non-traditional partnerships that bring fresh solutions to the country’s longstanding fight against poverty, such as labor empowerment, healthcare, and technology. 

David Luberoff, Deputy Director of the Joint Center, will moderate a panel on Cross-Sector Strategies for Affordable Housing, featuring:

  • Aaron Gornstein, President and CEO, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH)
  • Keren Horn, Associate Professor of Economics, University of Massachusetts Boston
  • Maurice Jones, President and CEO, Local Initiatives Support Coalition (LISC)

Highlighting the conference as keynote this year is Marian Wright Edelman, Founder and President of the Children's Defense Fund, and a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Prize Fellowship and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
