COMPOUNDED CHANGE: RESIDENTIAL MOBILITY, CHANGES IN HOUSEHOLD COMPOSITION, AND CHILDREN’S OUTCOMES

Location: 1 Bow Street, Suite 400 Cambridge, MA 02138

Changes in household composition and residential moves are two events children often experience. Research often considers them independently, but in this talk, Kristin Perkins, a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Joint Center for Housing Studies, will show that many children experience these changes at the same time. She will present evidence suggesting that these changes matter for kids’ outcomes when they happen independently and when they happen at the same time.

This talk is part of the Center’s ongoing Housing Research Seminar Series, which gives faculty, senior researchers, and graduate students the opportunity to present and discuss current and recent work with a mix of scholars and practitioners.
