Addressing Housing Needs in Latin America and the Caribbean

A lunchtime talk by Andrés G. Blanco, Senior Specialist in Urban Development and Housing, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and co-editor of the book Rental Housing Wanted: Options for Expanding Housing Policy, a new IDB publication which draws from case studies about housing markets in 19 metropolitan areas in nine countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Andres’ work focuses on the economic aspects of housing and zoning planning. He was a professor in the Urban and Regional Planning Department at the University of Florida. Andres holds an Undergraduate degree in Economics and a Master’s in Planning for Regional Development, both from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. He has a PhD from Cornell University in Urban and Regional Planning.
