Design for Equity

Location: The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center

The Joint Center is a co-sponsor of this two-day event, November 15 & 16, being held in conjunction with ArchitectureBoston Expo, and featuring leading practitioners and academics on equity and the built environment, who will explore how design and planning can promote racial equity through existing processes, and perhaps reveal new approaches to our work. The first day from 8 am - 5 pm will be a curriculum of in-depth discussions on social and racial equity in the 21st-century city, featuring a keynote from Deputy Mayor of Seattle Hyeok Kim who will share about Seattle's Equitable Development Fund.

The learning from the first day will be developed and tested through a hands-on application at the Design for Equity Charrette on the following day from 3 – 6 pm.

There is a $35 registration fee for Design for Equity, and the fee for the show floor is waived once you sign up for any session. There is no additional cost to sign up for day 2, the charrette.
